The Unwanted Pony

Amy Kennedy wants three things:- for her mum to spend less time working,

for her dad to come home and for them all to move back to the city.

Amy hates being stuck away from everything in the Connemara countryside. It had been her artist mum’s dream to buy an old house in the countryside where she could paint. Achieving her dream meant that Amy was taken away from all she knew and loved.

She’s lonely in the countryside, away from her friends and the convenience of Dublin. There’s something her parents aren’t telling her about why he dad is always working away.

Amy is horrified when her mum buys her a pony, a very unruly Connemara pony. The last thing Amy wants is a pony, she’s not keen on riding and is frightened of the pony when it arrives.

Cait Moloney, the heroine of A Pony For Free lives nearby. She offers to help Amy learn to ride. However as soon as Amy gets on her new pony, he bucks her off, jumps out of the field and gallops away into the distance.

Can Amy’s life really get any worse?
