It's Been A While

Here I Go Again,

I haven’t released a book for a while. But that is about to change. The book I’ve been working on for the last eighteen months is now in production and will be released later this year.

The book, Why Did He Die? was first written in 2014, but then I realised it was going to be the third in a series and so was shelved while I finished the other two books in the series.  A lot changed since 2014 for the characters in the book, so there was a huge amount of rewriting to be done.

In the meantime, I finished my MA and realised that being surrounded by people on a daily basis and having social interactions was a great benefit to me, rather than the solitary occupation spending the bulk of my life alone working on a book. Last year I did a degree in healthcare and am now working nights part-time, something I really enjoy, particularly because it gives me company and writing time. 

Why Did He Die? is the third in the DI Grace Tallis series, set in Cornwall. There is one more to come to complete the story arc, but that is still very much a work in progress. The second in the series Where Is My Daughter? has been reworked and will also be released this year. I’m also making a detour from crime back to romance, with a new series some of which I’m hoping will be ready this year.

I got very discouraged working on the re-writes, so much had to be changed from the original. The sheer amount of work was quite intimidating, a fresh, well plotted first draft would have been a lot easier to work on and its only that I’m so bloody minded that I kept going. I’m glad now as my advanced readers have been very positive in their feedback. Hopefully the production stage will go smoothly and the books will be available soon.
